Human Nature & Sustainable Development
Thursday July 4th 09:00 – 11:30 at the Sagal Showroom
9% of the UK workforce works in construction and the sector contributes 7% of UK GDP, but it is also responsible for 40% of all UK carbon emissions. Urbano Network organised their first event on ‘green construction’ in 2005 and since then has featured a roster of brilliant speakers all willing to share their knowledge, experience and passion to help others deliver on their commitments to sustainability.
We are excited to host the July Urbano Speaker breakfast, joined by Jonathan Smales, Founder & CEO of Human Nature, to discuss the UK’s most ambitious and innovative sustainable development.
With over 30 years in sustainable development, Jonathan is a visionary leader in sustainable design and urbanism. Jonathan has advised cities, regeneration agencies, government agencies and blue chip private clients, helping shape schemes for over 100,000 under development homes.
Human Nature is a new-generation sustainable developer, with ambitious plans to reform how residential spaces and housing developments are created. Their first project, the Phoenix neighbourhood in Lewes, East Sussex, aims to create whole places not housing estates that cultivate dynamic local communities, using innovations in in construction and infrastructure to speed up delivery and reduce costs, with SMEs at the heart of its supply chain (including Urbano members).
Please join us in our Clerkenwell showroom for this speaker breakfast where all attendees will enjoy pastries, yoghurts, fruit, tea and coffee fuelling conversations and connections.
